Goals

We plan to add at least one new sport each year to our selection of high challenge sports opportunities. These sports help us to inspire and discover new capabilities in overcoming disabilities. This year we are adding outrigger canoeing and adaptive cycling. We are striving to keep pace with cutting edge able-bodied sports and offer the same opportunities to people with disabilities. In the off season we will encourage students to participate in our Function and Fitness program or find another program to expand on the functionality of the capabilities found in sessions with us. Windsurfing still remains the centerpiece of our program. In all our programs we provide a challenge and an opportunity for accomplishment and fun.

Between persons with disabilities and companions who are able-bodied, we expect to teach 350 people and 2000 lessons this season. With each student, our goal is that the student will find new skills and an unparalleled sense of freedom. For all students, these sports are a new opportunity for fun, exercise, and challenge. Although we are a recreational program, we achieve physical and occupational therapeutic benefits. The AccesSportAmerica program enables all to succeed in sport and, in the process, offer health benefits.
