THE IMPROPER BOSTONIAN April 15-28, 2009

Beantown got hit with a bit of tinsel when a gaggle of Hollywood types descended on the Boston Harbor Hotel for the 2009 Auction for AccesSportAmerica.

The organization, which helps disabled kids participate in extreme sports like windsurfing, Hawaiian outrigger canoeing, attracted such high rollers as Oscar nominee (and Emmy winner) James Woods, Oscar winner Chris Cooper, his writer/actor wife, Marianne Leone Cooper (who was on The Sopranos), producer Dot Aufiero and TV doc Timothy Johnson, who all upped the glamour quotient considerably but also mingled with the crowd like they were just regular folks.

Also on hand: redheaded media cutie Mariellen Burns, the stunning Susan Halby, babe-a-licious blond Lynn Dale and the dapper Frank Wisneski, absurdly handsome chef Tony Ambrose, the indomitable Barbara Tellalian and party pair Victoria and Rich Fisher, who bid on vacations items like a week at a posh house on the Vineyard, lunch in the North End with James Woods and a stroll down the red carpet at the premiere of Cooper's new movie....
